SMALL CLAIMS COURT

The Small Claims Court can handle any action for the payment of money or the recovery of possession of personal property where the amount claimed does not exceed $25,000, excluding interest and costs such as court fees.

The process of suing someone in the Small Claims court is complicated and time limitations are strict. You can be noted in default and a judgement can be issued against you without your presence.

It is crucial to have a consultation before taking an action or deciding not to dispute the claim.
